Wonderful Martinky just a stone's throw from the cottage.
Martinky, as the name suggests, is located near Martin in the beautiful surroundings of Mala Fatra in Martinské holie. A resort that breathes genuine winter atmosphere and history. The first mention of skiing and tourist activities in Martinky dates back to 1921. The ski resort is located at an altitude of 1,150 to 1,456 m above sea level. The peak provides a unique view of the Turčianska kotlina and the surrounding mountains.

The best skiing is always associated with a good dose of natural snow. You can enjoy it in Martinky even when lower resorts are empty. The snow in this area always reminds you of a winter fairy tale. Despite the abundance of snow, the resort in Martinky also has an infrastructure for artificial snowmaking. It is thanks to the mix of natural and artificial snow that the season lasts up to 110 snowy days a year. This is the guarantee that you will ski as much as you can in this ski resort.
SNOWLAND Valčianská dolina
SNOWLAND Valčianská dolina is located within 20km of the fast road from the cottage. Skiing, cross-country skiing, ski service, ski rental, restaurant, ski school. The chairlift and the easier slope profile make this ski resort one of the most visited resorts for families with small children. The resort is also equipped with a magic carpet lift as well as smaller lifts.

Located 16km from the cottage under the northern slopes of Lysec hill (1381m), 12 km southeast of Martin. It is a year-round recreational center.
Cross-country skiing and mountain hiking
The Jasenská Valley also offers excellent conditions for cross-country skiing and mountain hiking. There are 3 groomed cross-country trails with a total length of 7 km, and the marked trails are 3 km long. The starting point is the KAŠOVÁ resort. The ski season lasts from mid-December to the end of March - or mid-April, depending on the weather conditions.
SKI TOURING
The Turiec area is very popular for recreational as well as more demanding ski mountaineers. The ascent to Veľká Lúka on Martinské hole directly from the parking lot in the Stráne section or from the parking lot in the ski is very popular. Of course, you need to monitor the current snow conditions, because it is not always possible to climb all the way down. This is an easy ascent and also a relatively easy descent. On the Martinské hole ridge there are many routes for beautiful mountain winter hiking but also for active downhill skiing in powder.
